Rianwen the Generous

The Patron of Hwyleira herself! Not to forget her trusty steed, Otis, of course.

Rianwen was a child who always saw an awe inspiring spark within the winter months, while others saw a cold wait till spring all she saw was a time to embrace the chill of the world and it's creativity. This upbeat attitude about the freezing conditions often got her nothing but mockery from her fellow townsfolk, but she still kept at it as she grew on.

Soon she was 16, having hit a point where her winter enthusiasm was dying out. When she was younger, keeping up this love for ice and snow was easier but heck she's almost a young adult now. Any speck of whimsy she tried to spread was quickly stamped out by one of the elder folk telling her to simply grow up, this season was the coldest the Bound had ever seen so morale was low as could be.

Rianwen decided to take a walk, to clear her head and escape this drowning depression that her town had fell into. That was when she met with a curious beast, brown with a gorgeous turquoise mane running down it's back, there was red dripping from a gash in it's shoulder as it locked eyes with the lone dop. She felt a connection with this creature, like this meeting was destined, however that was quickly interrupted by a sudden shout from not that far away.

She tried her best to appear friendly to the Ferphin, giving a quick gesture to follow so she'd have a chance to help the poor fellow, thanklfully for her this monster trusted her as the plucky pair broke into a sprint back to the village.

Once home, Rianwen raided her cupboards in search of herbs and clean cloth and once she hda them went to work on that wound, she didn't wish for this creature to be in pain nor to be under threat from who ever did this.

After a couple days of rest, the injury had healed and it was time for her to set the beast free, however each time she told him to go, he merely came back after an hour or two with a "gift" if you call dead Warbliks and Valesli feathers gifts. It seemed that in her care, this Ferphin has grown quite attached but all those somewhat gruesome presents gave Rianwen an idea...

Spending weeks amassing large amounts of items from craftsmen of all trades, many got curious of the hoard she accumulated since claiming the beast as her own, filling sacks and with the aid of a local stablemaster building a sledge of sorts for her Ferphin to pull. Her plan was one that was sure to go down in history, but the glory of becoming legend meant little to her compared to bringing this world some cheer!

It was time, the duo started a trip across the Bound in a dash to spread festive cheer through distribution of various gifts. From the forever frozen hills of Glaxipo to the tropical shores of Mutinika, this Wilfores girl pulled out all the stops she could to finally spread her peppy winter ideals.

This selfless act of hers gained attention of the gods of the Bound, seeing someone who put so much into making others feel good during the cold made them feel like she was worthy enough to become a patron herself. Her legend forever immortalised like her and steed, bound to roam this land spreading glee for years to come.

And that my friends is how Hwyleira started!
